Busy Weekend

Full weekend for me. Saturday morning was cold, and I was running late, so I passed up a good chance to get a photo run-by of the Norfolk Southern #630 steam engine, but I cycled out to Yadkin and caught it returning from an excursion trip.

On the trip home, I decided to swing by Skipjack Nautical Antiques & Marine Gallery where they were celebrating their ten year anniversary. I was not dressed for this, although I did have on my Skipjack sweatshirt and was wearing my Skipjack hat. They let me hangout and shoot some photos and eat and join the merriment.
Joe and Alison Elder have put their hearts and souls into this venture and it has become one of the best spots on the east coast. Well done, my friends!
They really know how to party and spared no expense in sharing their hospitality and showing their appreciation. It hasn't been smooth sailing the whole time. (read more on their Website (About Us)) but they pressed on and returned with a commendable recovery. We are fortunate to have them as friends and neighbors and supporters of the community.

There are more photos (on Facebook) and more awesome food, enough for an army. And a navy.
*Catered by the fine folks at Bowman's Garden Center .
