ps. My brother, the Woodman, will open for Ed & Bobbie Phelps Beard and The Virginia Rounders at this event. He started playing with Willie Phelps in 1968 when he was only 16 years old.
On April 18th, 2007 the Phelps Brothers joined other legendary performers: Pearl Bailey, Bruce Hornsby, Ella Fitzgerald, Gene Vincent, Ruth Brown, Charlie Byrd and others in downtown Norfolk's Legends of Music Walk of Fame. A bronz star was placed in the sidewalk on Granby Street to honor the three brothers from South Norfolk, Virginia and the contributions they made to the local, national, and universal music scene.
This year's inductees ran the gamut of musical types from: Classical, to Beach Music, to Big Band, to Rock, to Countrty & Western. Inducted along with the Phelps Brothers was JoAnn Falletta, General Norman Johnson, Pat Curtis & Clarence Clemons.
